Proskynetario
In later periods, souvenirs brought home by pilgrims from the Holy Land take the form of painted proskynetaria, easily transported in a cylindrical role. These painted representations depict an abbreviated Christian topography of the Holy Land, making them important documentation of the journey of each pilgrim.
