The relief from the series Alphavitos (E-2) was donated by the artist Stephen Antonakos in 2010, in homage to Demetrios Konstantios, director of the Byzantine Museum (1999-2010). The work refers to the luxurious bindings and is part of the series of Books created by Antonakos in 1980s under the title Alphavitos. In these works the artist reconstructs the basic parts of the book: the writing, the illustration, the decoration, the bookbinding.
