Epitaphios
The gold-embroidered Epitaphios (liturgical vestment) is coming from Constantinople and is dated in 1751. During the conservation process it was discovered that the item had undergone interventions during the past; the fabrics were replaced and some of the embroideries were copies of the originals. Hidden in the linings, the conservators found embroidered the original signatures: donated by Timothea, embroidered by Mariora. Long -term loan from the Exarchate of Jerusalem in Athens.
